who we are New Moon Gardens is a small garden design and installation firm operated by designer David mcMullin. Our small company includes some very experienced and talented gardeners, and it expands to include a number of expert craftsmen that help implement David's visions.
David has been designing and installing small and large gardens for residential and commercial clients in the Atlanta area for most of 20 years. His accomplishments include "Best of Show' awards at the Southeastern Flower Show, Garden Design magazine's Golden Trowel Award, appearances on HGTV's "A Gardener's Diary" and Public Television's "Victory Garden", featured articles and photographs in Garden Design, Budget Living, Atlanta magazine, The Atlanta Journal and Constitution, Fine Gardening and Elle Decor, which named David a "rising star" in American garden design.
David's personal garden has been well visited and photographed and has been included on numerous tours benefitting plant societies and garden clubs and has been twice included in the Gardens for Connoisseurs tour. He has had three client's gardens on this tour as well. Besides designing gardens, David has written a garden column, been a contributing editor for Garden Design magazine, has done quite alot of public speaking and has expanded his career to include a mail order nursery, Very Good Plants. David more recently has come to count every dead plant and weed in his garden as time spent with his young children, Elliott and Emma. They are the light in his countenance.
