Policies and Fees We prefer to be fully involved in the design, installation and development of our projects, rather than to provide "design-only" services. It has been our experience, and the experience of many respected colleagues that a good garden cannot be fully designed on paper. The creation of a garden is an on-going, tactile process. With that in mind, our initial design fee is $100 per hour, which will be billed ONLY if the client does not choose to continue with installation services. If the client accepts an installation bid, they will not be billed for design time. A $50.00 per hour travel fee may be charged to clients outside the I-285 perimeter, depending on location. A 15% fee may be added to craftsman fees for design time, site inspections, and supervision, depending on the project. All installation bids are to be submitted and approved before the work begins. A deposit of 50% is required in advance, with the remainder due upon completion of the project. A deposit is required to secure a place on our installation schedule. Labor-only projects, such as maintenance, will be billed at a rate of $35.00 per person per hour, plus a designer fee of $50.00 per hour for supervision and site inspections, if warranted. Any changes requested by the client must be expressed in the form of a written change order and may require a reconsideration of cost. All bills are due upon receipt. New Moon Gardens guarantees woody trees and shrubs only for a period of six months from installation. We reserve the reasonable expectation to anticipate minor losses from small herbaceous plants such as annuals and perennials and the right not to replace those materials. Plants will be replaced one time only. This guarantee takes effect only if adequate irrigation systems are in place and used properly. We do not guarantee plants in the event of client neglect, extreme or unusual weather conditions, physical damage or significant changes in growing conditions, such as the loss of sheltering trees, etc. A Note About Our Pricing As avid and experienced gardeners, we are acutely aware of the money necessary to create a beautiful garden. We are always mindful to be as efficient as possible with our time, as fair as possible with our pricing and as flexible as possible with our client's budgets. We use standard industry mark-ups and labor rates when determining bids. In informal polls of companies that provide similar services and quality, we find our pricing is typically mid-range. We believe that our creativity and experience make our rates a good value. |
